  Hydrophobic sealer for masonry release

  Efflock is about to release it's sister product called "Hydrophobic Sealer for Masonry". This new label will promote Efflock's lesser known function as a premium water repellent sealer for porous masonry. This sealer is a stand alone product, sold as a maximum concentrate that dilutes with water 9 times. This concept is in line with our goal to reduce plastic packaging, reduce transport costs and emissions, whilst providing toolbox convenience and the best economy. 1 litre of "Hydrophobic Sealer for Masonry" makes 10 litres of sealer, equating to around half the cost of existing equivalent sealers.

  Fallen Life Savers Memorial at Coogee - Stonemasons choose Efflock.

  A national memorial to commemorate the lives of fallen life savers during combat is nearing completion. The memorial at Coogee Beach in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs is due to open 27th April - the first Sunday following Anzac Day. Terraset Stonemasons are undertaking the stonework for the head contractor Hargraves Landscapes, using Sydney Sandstone. Efflock has been selected for the mortar mix to prevent efflorescence, reduce maintenance and prevent rising damp and salt attack.

  Salinity in Australia - a big problem that builders need to consider.

  The Master Builders Association meeting held in Maitland last week had a very entertaining and informative guest speaker from the NSW Department of Primary Industries. The topic was urban salinity. Salt from the soil can have a very destructive and catastrophic effect on masonry in buildings. Salt is drawn up into masonry with rising damp, and over many years with wet and dry cycles, more and more salt is deposited into the point of evaporation, typically in brickwork or stonework below damp proof course [DPC] level.
